On Sat March 28th at the David Lloyd Centre in Ipswich Marlon “The Game” Hunt won the ISKA Light Heavyweight World Pro Title by beating  Lukas Wolf of the Czech Rep and became a 6 x Pro World Champion at 4 different weights.

This was by far the biggest and most professional run show East Anglia has seen to date which was also promoted by Hunt. The sold out “Undisputed” show brought fighters over from Holland and Czech Rep to fight the top UK professional fighters, but also gave the best up and coming amateur local fighters the opportunity to show their skills. You could tell by the set up of the venue that no expense was spared and the best ISKA World Class Judges and referees where brought in to judge the show.

Hunt weighed in at a ripped 79kg, whilst Wolf came in slightly heavier at 81.2kg.

Both fighters were undefeated in Pro Full Contact Kickboxing rules. Hunt knew he had to step up his game with Wolf having well over 100 fights behind him and had trained hard at his own Red Phoenix Academy gyms in Great Finborough, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, but also with his manager/Coach Cris Janson Piers and special guest of the night Andre Maanaart who was the former coach of K1 World Champion Remy Bonjaski.

Totally professional start with both fighters feeling each other out. The first, five or six rounds didn’t have much in it. Good power from both fighters and fairly even by the half way mark. Hunt stepped up a gear and started to make headway by landing more techniques, but the Czech Fighter was strong and powerful and was looking for the quick KO. Wolf could not cope with the high fighting pace that Hunt set and started to breathe a lot heavier in 6th, again Hunt who was very difficult to hit carried on the work rate. Final 4 or five rounds Hunt easily out-pointed his opponent to take the title on unanimous points decision.

Hunt said “This was a really tuff fight, but that is what you expect at the top level of the game. I enjoyed it a lot and am proud to have brought another World Title not just back to the UK, but back to Suffolk where I was born. I am now an Undefeated 6 x Pro World Full Contact Kickboxing Champion.”

Hunt added “I promote these shows to showcase what Professional Kickboxing is really about, but I also work very hard with like minded coaches and camps to better the sport and to give their up and coming fighters the chance to be on such a prestigious event.”
