<title>Crooke versus Kraus in K-1 Superbout at Pain and Glory</title>
<link>http://www.iska-europe.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=12</link>
<description>
For many fight fans, &quot;Pain and Glory&quot; is the Seni show flagship and one of the major combat sports events of the fight calendar. This year Pain and Glory has received official sanctioning as a K-1 Max event and alongside a K-1 Max tournament promoters Fighters Inc and Showsport international are proud to announce three K-1 Superbouts featuring top British talent against internationally respected K-1 veterans.

K-1 World Max Champion 2002, Albert Kraus, with 17 wins from 26 K-1 bouts will take on our very own Superstar Peter Crooke, who KO’d Takayuki Kohiruimaki in the same tournament. Crooke recently fought his idol, Thai legend Sakmongkol and while it is no secret that he will be retiring soon, it looks like Crooke is determined to go out fighting the very best.

Rising British star Liam Harrison will take on Kazuya Yasuhiro ( Japan), an 18 fight K-1 veteran, who featured in the K-1 Max 2007 in March. Harrison is always an exciting fighter, ready and willing to fight anywhere and this should be an explosive encounter, as ‘The Hitman’ looks to make his mark on the K-1 scene.

On paper the most intriguing fight is the heavyweight match-up between former Taekwondo World champion, Yong-Su Park ( Korea), currently 3-0 under K-1 rules and Britain’s own Karate World Champion, Leon Walters. Walters has all the physical attributes to be a full contact star but could not have chosen a more high-profile, high pressure debut and only when that first bell sounds will we know for certain…..

Pain and Glory tickets will be on sale at the tickets prices of £25, £40 and £75 and will be available from Ticket Master on 0870 6077 477.

By purchasing a ticket to Pain and Glory the ticket holder is entitled to enter Seni07 Free of Charge! </description>

European Domination
Amateur Full Contact Fight Night
June 11th 2006
by Paul HENNESSY

This show has been the anticipation of the amateur full contact circuit with Rob &amp;#8216;Diesel&amp;#8217; Stevens fighting possibly his last amateur bout, climaxing with fighting for the I.S.K.A. European Amateur Full Contact Super Welterweight Title.

Diesel, Midland Area, English &amp; British title holder &amp;#8211; 13 fights 12 wins 1 draw is battling against French opponent, Nizar Gallas, French Amateur full contact champion for 2004 &amp; 2006, 15 fights 13 wins 3 loss.
Nizar entered the ring to a respectful reception, the crowd clapping him, ever pleasing to see true sportsmanship from the home crowd &amp;#8211; this followed by a phenomenal entrance from Diesel, whose music could barely even be heard over the rapturous applause &amp; his trade mark crowd noise &amp;#8216;DIESEL&amp;#8217; &amp;#8216;DIESEL&amp;#8217;&amp;#8230;. After the national anthems, both corners acknowledge each other, taking their corners, Nizar in the red, Diesel in the blue.

Round 1
Nizar starts off confidently, the quicker of the two, firing in 2 round kicks. Diesel responds with a side kick to the body, this answered by Nizar with a left round kick to the body straight right hand, just clipping Diesel&amp;#8217;s head. A furious exchange of punches in the corner from both fighters, Diesel attempting an inside sweep &amp; a right hook, Nizar then answers back with a short cluster of punches. He lands 2 strong body kicks followed up with a perfectly timed inside leg sweep, ending Round 1.

The crowd appreciating this fight from the get go &amp;#8211; the French contingent was here to win &amp;#8211; tough first round, you could almost feel people holding their breath &amp;#8211; Diesel definitely had a fight on!

Round 2

Rob is the first off the mark, a round kick &amp; an over hand right, Nizar holds, then replies &amp;#8211; he holds then fires out a straight right hand. Diesel lands a round kick, over hand right &amp; a glancing uppercut through the middle.

Nizar fires out a vicious round kick, just missing Diesels head &amp;#8211; the phonetic pace is incredible, the round continues with constant attacks from both fighters, there is so much going on, as much missing as hitting. Both fighters exchange punches, Rob scoring an uppercut on the inside, Nizar pressurises Diesel into the corner, another heated exchange of blows, Diesel escapes the disadvantage, looping in an overhand right to Nizars head. The barrage continues until the bell goes ending this round.

Round 3

Diesels evasive skills showing early in this round, dodging Nizars kicks, on 2 occasions a strong counter from Diesel, the 1st a sneaky uppercut, the 2nd a strong hook to the head. Diesels nifty footwork is very apparent, evading a barrage of kicks from Nizar. After another short encounter of kicks &amp; punches, Diesel shows strength on the inside with accurate uppercuts. Diesel clears the way a little in this round, upping his game, dominating Round 3 with the more positive pressure. Nizar ends Round 3 with another timely executed sweep.

Round 4

Diesel starts off with more strong combinations of kicks &amp; punches, backing Nizar into the ropes. Nizar blasts back a round kick to the head, catching Diesels guard. Nizar seems to have a strategy of cornering Diesel, feeling this is a pressure advantage. After Diesel covers up, defending another spate of punches, he attacks back stamping in a side kick to the body, landing Nizar on the seat of his pants.

The French corner men become increasingly animated &amp;#8211; the crowd off their seats &amp;#8211; after another short attack from the Frenchman, Diesel again drops him with a side kick to the body. Nizar not at all hurt comes back more determined, firing in a head kick. Again Nizar executes another perfect sweep, Diesel landing on the canvass. Final few spates of kicks &amp; punches, ending Round 4.

Round 5

Both fighters come out bombing each other with sharp strong heavy shots &amp;#8211; neither fighter willing to give way &amp;#8211; the crowd going absolutely mad, loving every minute of this, Diesel lands an overhand right followed by an uppercut, then another one glancing Nizars chin. Diesels confidence grows, injecting some showmanship, winding up his right hand banging with his left hook to Nizars head, the crowd erupt in appreciation!

Nizar marauds forward throwing in a jab cross back leg round kick combo &amp;#8211; non stop &amp;#8211; backing Diesel against the ropes, Diesel takes a head kick, the French corner going crazy urging their man on, Diesel stuns Nizar with a beautiful combo, a double uppercut, knocking him back with a hook punch to the head. Nizar advances again, Diesel lands another heavy uppercut. The 2 gladiators battle until the very last second, an awesome performance from these two warriors, a brilliantly fought European Title bout.
Rob &amp;#8216;Diesel&amp;#8217; Stevens victoriously taking the contest unanimously, a deserved I.S.K.A. Super Welterweight European Amateur Champion.

I have to give complete respect to the French team who were absolutely fantastic, Nizar Gallas pure quality, Diesels most difficult opponent to date. They were a pleasure to host, the evening ending well with both teams out on the town together after the event, sportsmanship as it should be!
MAGB would like to thank all officials, coaches, fighters &amp; spectators, another great night!

<title>Gala in Szentes, Hungary</title>
<link>http://www.iska-europe.com/index.php?name=News&amp;file=article&amp;sid=7</link>
<description>Here's the info about the gala in Szentes, Hungary :

In the city of Szentes we held martial art gala where kickbox and thaibox bouts took place. The event was fought Austrian (turkish fighters) vs Hungarian fighters, with the following results:

1. Vahit Ipek (Power Gym) vs. SZILASI OSZKÁR (Szentesi Kinizsi TE)
0:3 (-74kg lowkick 3x2&amp;#8217;) the hungarian fighter won, but the turkish fighter
put up a very tough fight. His beautiful kicks made the spectators burst
out in applause. The hungarian won the match with his tremendous
boxing knowledge.

2. Sevket Demir (Power Gym) vs. FARKAS PÉTER (Fighting Force Pápa)
1:2 (-72kg thaiboxing 3x2&amp;#8217;) - the spectators saw a very tough, even-like bout where both fighters
showed that they are very skilled in this form of martial art.

3.Engim Kocak vs. VANCSIK NÁNDOR (Union Team Halas) 3.round KO-
Body (-72kg thaibox 3x2&amp;#8217;) - in the first round the referee had to count twice on the turkish fighter
who came back really hard on the hungarian fighter in the second round. It seemed the turkish coach made a miracle and his fighter was totally changed and made the second round very hard for the
hungarian fighter. In the third round both fighters worked very well, but after a good hand combination the hungarian fighter sent his opponent to the ground with a strong and well placed kick on the body.
Afterwards the turkish fighter not able to continue the fight.
